Fuze reviews

KIF – David Fiuczynski

Overall I feel the CD has an intimate, ambient atmosphere, with areas of intensity which are nailed by these superb pros that tastefully contrast floating melodies and rhythms.

Lian Amber lends some sweet vocals to the music, and Fuze’s use of fretless guitars is clearing the way for more and more younger musicians to step up to the plate.

The impact to the fullest extent of this music can only be recieved long after listening to it numerous times, I think, it is rhythmically rich and harmonically deep, the forms are complex, and it integrates a plethora of musical styles, including; jungle, drum-n-bass, jazz, blues, middleastern, classical, 12 tone and 19 tone tempered scales, use of irregular modes, and wide harmonic rhythmic cycles which will leave the ear entrenched with new harmonic territory and a good sense of the discipline and passion that these musicians put into their music.

Some of this music is difficult to hear, but I assure you, in the end, it will be worth your while.

5 stars out of 5.
