Fareed Haque reviews
The 3 of us – Fareed Haque
Classification – Modern Jazz
The three of us has a sub-title; “Music for Various Trios” and that is just what this album does. Jazz from Fareeq Haque and whichever two friends join him that night, and what a circle of friends this guy has. Fareed plays a variety of guitars; a Gibson L5S, a 1947 kraftsman, a 19 string sitar/guitar and a Glissentar. So you could argue this is not strictly a fretless album, but it does deliver smokey jazz club atmosphere, and Fareed plays with drive and enthusiasm.
It is easy to see why Fareed has so many fans and followers, he is a fine guitarist and this album is an excellent store front for his varied work.
