Scott McGill – Fretless Guitar Lessons via Skype

Scott McGill is a well respected Fretless Guitarist who plays progressive rock, jazz, fusion, fretless and fretted guitars and is now offering instruction via Skype to anyone regardless of location. He has recorded and toured with Michael Manring, Percy Jones (Brand X/Eno), Jordan Rudess, Neil Kernon (Mahavishnu Orchestra) , and David Torn. He was a student of ten years with Jazz Theorist / Pedagogue Dennis Sandole who taught John Coltrane, James Moody, Jim Hall, Pat Martino, and many other great Jazz Artists.

He holds an MA in Electric Guitar pedagogy and was a Senior Lecturer and Course Leader in the UK for 7 years for a BA programme in Popular Music in Brighton, UK, at the BIMM (British and Irish Modern Music Institute) and is now offering customised Guitar Instruction via Skype.

I first met Scott at the seventh Dutch Fretless Guitar Festival in Den Hague (The Hague), Netherlands in 2012 and he is a formidable Fretless Guitarist who has also written three books: The Guitar Arpeggio Compendium / Twelve-Tone Octave Displacement Studies for The Guitar and all Treble Clef Instruments / Synthetic and Exotic Scale Jazz Improvisation Etudes for Treble Clef Instruments.
