They've been babbling on about this for bloody years!

There was even definate talk of a movie, I seem to recall....

I'll see what Llewelyn has to say about it on youtubby.....

I'd love to look forward to it, but we don't get DAVE out here, I hope they don't do to it what they did to Blackadder..

Sorry I bin a bit scarce - getting harder and harder to keep up with all the crap on the web of late!

I can't see it being good. The last couple of series were written by one half of the original writing partnership. Which is why it was gash.... So unless they have sorted their differences and got back together I fear it will be a shit fest. Has anyone seen the pilot for the American Version of Red Dwarf? It made me puke on my cock.

No, not seen that.

But didn't the idea generate the truly awful "Good Old Boys in Space"?

Scotty from Star Trek kept turning up with some dodgy Galactic Queen.

A fine example of piss poor American comedy.

I saw that once on broadcast TV - I thought WTF was that crap? - but then was set right a) when one of my housemates in SF started renting the vids of the real series, and b) when they started showing them on the local PBS station...

Jane Leeves was in the pilot? (Daphne on Frasier...) Probably leaves it off her CV.

I haven't seen the american RD versions/trailer yet - I'm currently watching Llewellyn's "car pool" with Danny John (cat)

That was great. I always thought Cat was brilliantly played. For anyone who's ever lived with cats, every aspect of DJJ's portrayal was spot on. Nice to see those guys still getting along, real mates. And it's hard to say who's more animated, Llewellyn himself or Kryten. Half expect him to exclaim whilst driving "Well, spin my nipple nuts and send me to Alaska!"

From his FAQ it looks like the new episodes have a good chance of being OK. We'll see...

Watched the Ed Bye (director) one too - Apparently he once directed something called Fatslags... :D Tells a great joke towards the end, too.

I haven't seen the Ed Bye one yet, I'll see that later today on a break....

I have seen the Fatslags though, it was dissappointing, they're best seen in their native "Viz comic" (the damn website is down) or out in the streets, pubs and clubs towns all over the UK :D ....

I for one was kinda fond of the last two series, so I think it'll be okay, been following Llewellyn on a bit on twitter where he's been talking about the process (bobbyllew?)

Though I won't get to see it...

until it's out on DVD if I buy it

I've heard the crew visit Coronation Street.
