Fretless Guitar Lab at the National Guitar Workshop ~ July 24-28th, New Milford, CT
I’ll be teaching my “Fretless Guitar Lab” seminar at the National Guitar Workshop. This is a five day symposium for the fretless newbie that covers intonation, playing and improv techniques, and exploring the styles of my fretless brethren — David Fiucyznski and Ron Thal (Bumblefoot).
DON’T HAVE A FRETLESS? FRET NOT! First Act Guitars will provide the axes for you to play on AND you will have the opportunity to purchase your newly found weapon of fretless havoc. How about them apples? Enrollment for the seminar is limited but still available … this is a very RARE thing indeed, please don’t miss out!!
Here’s the blurb from NGWs website www.guitarworkshoporders.com
Wanna check out the next big thing since seven string guitars? Then this seminar on the ultra-hip world of fretless guitar is for you. That’s right-no frets! Explore uncharted territory never thought possible on fretted guitars. Taught by Berklee College of Music professor and Guitar One magazine writer and video stunt guitarist Chris Buono, this week long fretless primer will introduce the student to the styles and techniques of the leaders in fretless guitar. Don’t have a fretless guitar? No problem, First Act will provide the instruments used in the class!
Please pass this along and let’s keep the fretless guitar movement alive and strong!
Chris Buono.

Berklee College of Music
Berklee will offer the first college level fretless guitar lab in the world (as far as we know) starting this week for the Spring 2006 semester. Organiser David Fiuczynski will be leading the class.
Chris Buono tells us First Act guitars have kindly donated 6 guitars to the lab and they will be their supplier from here on in. It looks like they will pursue building fretless guitars and make them available to the public for a VERY reasonable price.
National Guitar Workshop’s will hold their first fretless guitar lab in the summer of 2006, headed up and organised by Chris, First Act will once again be the fretless suppliers.
Chris also interviewed Fuze (David Fiuczynski) in Guitar One’s Holiday Issue and there is some fretless frenzy to be heard and SEEN on the CD-ROM included with the magazine.
